Kissinger to Rabin
"I ask Rabin to make concessions , and he says he can't because Israel is weak. So then I give him more arms, and then he says he doesn't need to make concessions because Israel is strong".
I got the above quote from a newly purchased book - The Israel Lobby and the US foreign policy , and I can't wait to finish reading it.
Ah, god, I thought the quote was hilarious, although reality is dreadful and bloody, and I do feel regreful for not going to the protest with my sister in Montreal.
Anyways, thank goodness, there is ceasefire now, and alah yir7am ili matawo, ameen....

This is more relevant to the last two posts than this one(sort of), but I finished Nadje Ali's book a little while back and it's awesome.
More on topic, do you know about the Chapters boycott.
"Heather Reisman and Gerry Schwartz – majority owners of Chapters and Indigo bookstores – are the founders of the “Heseg Foundation for Lone Soldiers”, which provides scholarships and other financial support to soldiers in the Israeli Military on the basis of need and military “achievement”. At its peak, the foundation will distribute up to $3,000,000 annually to former “Lone Soldiers” – individuals without family in Israel who have chosen to join the Israeli military and remain in the country permanently. "
Oh NEW and shocking INFO, and chapters is one of my favorite hangout, what a pity....
Chapters added to the list of starbucks....
Where do you usually buy your books Nadia?
I don't know Montreal so well. In TO I usually end up buying from BMV which is a mix of used stuff and new publisher's overstock so it tends to be cheaper, they have a few locations around the city; I usually also check out City Books(local chain), Pages(for artsy/design stuff), the Women's Bookstore (which can be less cheap but they carry some interesting stuff) and Beguiling(comics). Otherwise Amazon is my standby.
If you do a search there's a facebook group (I don't really use the thing but if you want something you can forward to people easily.)
Thank you Nadia, but I actually do not live in Monteal, would not mention it if I lived there..
Thank you for the names once again :)
"So then I give him more arms,"
Absolutely priceless thanks Shams !
Yeah, well.. I loved the quote. But it makes one feel so sheepish among a pack of wolves and sheep who are trying to be mock-wolves, like in the Animal farm u know. I don't think I'm making any sense anyway.
shams, where are u.. i check ur blog regularly and NO new post!!! hope u ok...
"I don't think I'm making any sense anyway."
You are making sense absolutely, we are very weak.
