Guys and girls ideological schism

The love between men and women, other than the physical attraction, needs some shared mental consensus on many things to keep the ship sailing.

Apparently, girls' number one complain is that guys lack the yin yang balance, they either overly too zealous, religiously or hedonic liberal freaks.

Of course, I have thrown some sensationalism in there, but according to girls, guys are not aligned in the middle to be open, understanding yet having a religious backbone from not doing haram!

However, in my case, I love liberal guys, and I fall in the liberal spectrum, and I can be doing things that can be labeled as hedonic for some Arabs, my number one complain, is that liberal guys are no where to be marriage material.

I do not know if it is religion that makes people more commitment-correct, or that it is the type of personalities whom are attracted to religion are of that archetype.

I can not lie that some aspects of the religious-home-grown guys carry is attractive, such as being a family values type of guy, one can easily have a peaceful, warm, secure picturesque image of him being the father and the husband.

As for the very liberal guys even though that a lot of them can carry great believe in religion, they still have this immature, selfish thing about them, I do not know if it is their crazy love of life that makes them glide through life like playful children. Yes, I truly picture them as amused children, jumping and running freely in green fields and stroll down the mini hills with throbbing hearts.

Does it bottom down to sex? With religious guys' only option is marriage!
How much of sexual freedom does it effect one's commitment and love ability to others?

And another difference I have noticed, most of all the marriage material guys I have met, share one something in common that they are ---boring. Are liberal guys far more adventurous, risk takers in their emotional lives? Does that bring more sophistication, experience and fun to their character?
Though, one atheist dude flashes his existence in my mind, he is damn boring and damn shy!

Another thing I have noticed, liberal guys' expectations tend to be higher compared to the religious guys.
For liberal guys, they can not marry without having sex with that person. Also, religious guys have much lower possibility of cheating compared to the liberal

Interesting post, Gilgamesh. I don't really think of "Liberal" and "Conservative" in terms of religion. I view the terms more along social lines. I do agree though, that devoutly religious people seem to be universally conservative. But a lot of conservative people are not particularly religious.

I think it's a mistake to characterize people's outlook on life in terms of their political philosophy or their religious beliefs. It's a generalization that rarely holds up under scrutiny. A lot of self-described "liberals" are extreme cynics (especially anarchists), for instance. And a lot of conservatives are idealistic by nature. That's my observation, anyway :)

who cares what you think, programmer craig.

Are you trying to impress Gilgamish, dude? Why else insult me here, when you've never insulted me on your own blog? You should change your name back to "Kid" - you obviously aren't as mature as you seem to think. You act like a 12 year old boy.

If you are jealous, you needn't be. I'm much too old for Gilgamish, and even if I wasn't I'm clearly not the kind of guy she likes. I comment on this blog because I like to hear her opinions. Deal with it. And grow up, already. Kid.

abbas konfused kid, I really like your blog and enjoy reading it, and there is no need to start such things in here. Let us be nice as I am sure that you are a nice guy, and I care about programmer craig's input. :)

This is awkward.

programmer Craig, I am sorry for that.

back to the topic

Programmer Cragi, yeah it is true, that one can't really think of liberals and conservatives in terms of religions, but we can't deny that religion play a big chunk part of it, maybe one of the influences.

Maybe i should have said, guys who commit to religion as opposed to guys who do not, to make it rather clear.

"And a lot of conservatives are idealistic by nature. That's my observation, anyway :)"

yeah maybe different people according to whatever personalities traits they have, are attracted to different level of conservatism/liberalism accordingly.
But sometimes I fee that some conservatives are quite pragmatic though!

I will give it more thinking, i suppose it is very hard to generlize in here, so i will stick to relg/nonregl. :D

Prog Craig,

It has nothing to do with gilgamish. Speaking of maturity, I thought you were a pretty mature dude but I was at Roba's blog and my opinion changed wholesomely.

Sorry Gilgamish.

here's what your lovely Prog Craig said there:

I’m implying it is OK for Christians to kill Muslims, because Muslims are murderers.

With that kind of logic I must be at least part Arab, no? Don’t worry, the whole world is going to be “Arab” that way, soon. I’m not the only one who has had enough of Arabs and Muslims.

Oh, wow, i am quite shocked...

Nice out of context quote, Abbas. No mention of Khalid Jarrar and his support for Al Qaeda in Iraq, and his preaching of death for Americans and Shia Muslims in Iraq. No mention of the kidnapping of the Archbishop of Mosul. Whatever.

i deleted my own msg above, i wanted to rephrase. I am not only shocked but dissapointed, according to what you have said pg I wish no longer to know you on my blog.

I'm sorry to hear that. Why do you think it's OK for Muslims to openly preach hatred and violence against non-Muslims, but it's not OK for anyone else to say the same about Muslims? Somebody has to say it, don't they? It's only common sense. Murderers get killed.

Anyway, I'll respect your request.

nadia n said...

You didn't say murderers get killed, though, you said Muslims should get killed. And Arabs who are not Muslim.

Abbas Hawazin said...

Hilarious. Our Zmal Friend Prog Craig here think all Arab-Muslims should support al-Qaeda, if you haven't noticed, Myself and Gligamish here are Arab-Muslims (and mighty proud of it), we don't support al-Qaeda, so do you want to kill us too?
It's really funny how you pretend to be so mature and open-minded and then your burst into some dumbass bigotry like that exposes you for who you are. and on top of the stupidity, he's doing it in the name of Christianity ; how about I jugde all Christians by your irresponsible comment? In fact, it's people like you who justify al-Qaeda's crimes by proving that you're not really much better than them.

nadia n said...

Not just Muslims, the only good Arab Christian is one that is killed by Muslims.

It is NO Where OK for any person, no matter who they are to preach hatred and violence against anyone. Twon wrongs does not make a right.

And PG, I thought you were the last person on earth to act in such reactionary way, I always thought of you as an open-minded, reformer type of a person.

"if you haven't noticed, Myself and Gligamish here are Arab-Muslims (and mighty proud of it), we don't support al-Qaeda, so do you want to kill us too? "

Abbass your efforts are much appreciated, I am very proud of my Arab heritage, but please do leave me away from religion, i9eer 3indi 7asasiya, i take religion as Islam, maybe and maybe as heritage, other than that i am independent in that department.

take care people :)

You expressed support for Hezbollah on your blog yesterday, Kid. Hezbollah has killed personal friends of mine. Why do you think it's OK for you to support people who kill Americans, but it's not OK for me to support people who kill Arabs?

By the way, you seem to have no sense of sarcasm. Which is strange, considering how often you "sarcastically" advocate violence, yourself.

And PG, I thought you were the last person on earth to act in such reactionary way, I always thought of you as an open-minded, reformer type of a person.

I used to be. I'm not any more. I tried as long and as hard as I can, but I've given up. However, my best friend in the whole world is an Arab Muslim blogger, so if you actually believe I was serious that I think Christians should kill Muslims, you're wrong.

This will be my last comment on your blog, Gilgamesh. I just wanted to reply to what was said to and about me, before I go.

PC, I do not know what to say, I think of leaving all the blogging sphere all together at times, I do not understand people as it seems, and honestly I do not know how to react to the whole thing.

I mean I did think you were a good person, and a very solid and a mature one, and I stil do, and I have no right to tell you who you are, maybe I was not exposed to what it goes around there , with all the quarells, I honestly do not know , you never disrespected me, and maybe i have judged you and I did not know what was going aroud, but the thing is, i never knew that you could sound like one of those people...you were always enlightened in my own perspective.

And I am really sorry about your friend and please do not give up.

I am sure there would have been some misunderstanding, between you and abbas

hope everyone peace,

I really want to be out of this.

take care

for the sake of gilgamish, I will respond.

Look, I'm sorry I brought this up here anyway ; it's just I came to your blog right after I read what Programmed Craig wrote there, thus, I was considerably appalled by his display of the modern reformist, a stunt he was pulling at my own blog too.

For the sake of Programmed, I will respond to him as well here too: I did not support Hezbollah, if I say Nasrallah is respected, that does not indicate I support violence and terrorism, or Hezbollah for that matter, I am stating what I see happening. I only deleted your comments, because you're not welcome anymore, I was hoping you'd get the hint, if you even write 'hi' it will be in the garbage.

best.

Interesting post. I think you are generalizing a bit by dividing guys into "religious" and "liberal". Most guys are in between, probably. Many liberal guys (like me) would not make pre-marital sex a pre-requisite to getting married. A kiss might suffice:)

Perkunas said...

I guess it depends what you want from marriage -- do you want security, economic, emotional, and do you want a place to raise a family? Can you get what you want without marriage? Can you have a child and raise it without being sure that the father will always be there for you? Can you support yourself and also raise the family that you want? You might be able to find the partner that you want, one with the balance of qualities that you seek so that you can have a marriage that is the best of fun and security -- don't stop looking because what we want in life is something we can make happen, although it may not take the form that we expected.
