I read soorat il ba8ara.

Yes, and I am planning to read all of the Quran, sounds like a good aya, i somehow felt estranged from the Muslim reality, quite contrary to what it says in the Quran.

I have realized something, that the point of having religious texts are not at least to me, to
control the masses but religions for me, are like intermittent historical eras of spiritual achievements on a bigger level, giving in mind we never heaard about those tiny individuals who made something, but they are just hidden from history because of the power struggle, one must look at organized religion in a political perspective to understand some, and religions do not reflect what is there, but they are spiritual breakthroughs at different levels.
I think, if we stick to what a religion holds true, and follow it without question, tyranny it would produce, I think finding spiritual guideness on an individualistic level is the way to go.But I am keeping an open mind, I will be reading the Quran and see what I can make off it, I just feel that I have a big appetite to learn more about not just Islam but all religions in general. But i know fore sure, the goodness we seek to learn from, is that god that we want to adhere to.

Religion is such a huge topic. I agree with some of what you said. Personally, I have not reached that level of spiritual stability so I still have some contradicting ideas about religion in general.

It is a good idea to start reading some religion texts. Maybe you will find some spiritual guidance throough this experience.

P.S.: It would be lovely to chat with you sometime, you sound like a very very interesting person.

Surat al Baqara is absolutely crucial. It, among other things, shows how God delivered Israel from Pharoah. And His wrath when Israel disobeyed God.

In these times, it is a poignant reminder not only for bani Israel but bani Islam as well.

i think this spiritual stability you talking about, must come within, sometimees i feel that i am reaching it, but once it comes about following some islamic laws for example, i just cringe and go away.. I dont know.....but i think i need to do more readings to reach a fair trial.....i somehow feel Abrahamic at times, i believe in that good, super natural power, you may call it god and be good and thats it.

i dunno, i find reading the Quran muree7 and not so muree7, i feel comfy that i am actually reading a text that tells you to be good, but at the same time, there are things that i find contrdictory, or not acceptable in my own very human being world.
